Itaewon Crown Hotel Site Development
Facing Yongsan Park, a national urban park, this project was conceived as a residential development with an Art & Culture theme, envisioned as a living artwork itself. The commercial spaces are designed in connection with Itaewon’s renowned antique furniture district, creating a cultural synergy where the architecture becomes an objet in its own right.
Through development incentives and public contributions, the site achieves its maximum potential, while fragmented building volumes on the irregular plot are unified by a “Fake Wall” design, forming a cohesive landmark perceived as a single objet.
An Inner Court terrace layout enhances both privacy and a refined exterior presence, while select units offer panoramic views of Yongsan Park—framing the landscape itself as a piece of art. Special community spaces, such as the Art Lobby, Four Seasons Garden, and Sky Lounge, were designed to enrich residents’ lifestyles with a unique cultural dimension.
On the commercial side, the project introduces a symbolic retail hub that reflects the character of the site and current urban trends. A pedestrian-friendly streetscape along Noksapyeong-daero, combined with a rooftop terrace linked to the Itaewon Tourism District, creates strong attractions for visitors. Outdoor areas are themed as an Artist’s Garden, offering a distinctive environment that merges culture, nature, and urban vibrancy.
