An open space was planned in the front, reflecting the locational characteristics of the research building located in the central space of the campus. By connecting and integrating this with the existing campus space, a new central space was created to prepare for the future of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology. To create a space where creativity can be expressed, we analyzed the behavior of individuals, teams, and groups under the concept of ‘Eureka Moment’, a new stimulus through unusual experiences, and planned a three-dimensional space for immersion and relaxation. We provided an optimal research environment by reflecting the needs of researchers through post-residence evaluation, and focused the facility space on the outside to create a flexible research and experiment space that can respond to changes in the future research environment.
