Centerfield

The center field, built on the site of the former Renaissance Hotel, is planned to be a complex building with two tower buildings with seven floors below ground and 36 floors above ground, and combines prime offices (Amazon, Facebook, Krafton), a hotel and banquet halls (Josun Palace), and sales facilities operated by Shinsegae Property. The demolished Renaissance Hotel is the posthumous work of the late architect Soo-geun Kim, leaving the existing building site and part of the outer wall to leave a trace so that the past and present time coexist on the site. An exhibition circulation that allows various experiences penetrating interior and exterior spaces was established along the path of the traces of time, and some devices were reborn as art ornaments. The façade of the tower is reminiscent of waterfalls falling from the sky, and it is divided into three sides to reduce the volume of the mass and install vertical louver to emphasize the delicate flow and verticality of the stream. As for the external space, two buildings were arranged and a public square and a private backyard were created using the naturally formed space to provide a resting place for nearby residents and office workers.
